I have retired as of the end of July. Name puzzles will still be available from my good friend Glenn Fidelak who is taking over the puzzle business. Glenn has been making puzzles for several years taking over parts of my business as I’ve slowed down. You can order from Glenn at http://namepuzzles.ca/glenn/
I’m going to miss all of you, especially the many long time customers who order regularly. It has been a pleasure getting to know so many of you at the Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market, the St. Albert Farmer’s Market and the other markets and Craft Shows I’ve participated in over the years.
I started my business Out of the Woods in 1975 as a full time toy maker, adding name puzzles to my line of wooden toys in the early 1980s. In 1991 I dropped the wooden toys to concentrate solely on puzzles. When I turned 65 in 2012 I realized that I enjoyed my work too much to retire at that point. Over the last three years I have cut back to only selling at Old Strathcona and from my website. During the past few months I have realized that I don’t mind that we have not been able to sell at the Market, and that I can find other things to do when I’m not in my workshop.
Thanks to all of my customers over the years. When I started in 1975 I could not have imagined that I would still be in business 45 years later.
If you would like to contact me I’m at firstname.lastname@example.org.
